Google Meet adding two million users a day amid COVID-19 pandemic

That’s huge numbers, the app/service isn’t getting the best reviews though

It doesn’t work for free google accounts that I can tell, at least not to create meetings. I looked at it, didn’t seem like a good option for me.

And I don’t trust google not to kill services at random anymore. They do search well, and gmail. Everything else is questionable whether they will decide to kill it on any random day.

Not a good option at all. Requires a paid G Suite account with a 14 day trial.

Prefer Google Duo, FaceTime and Skype.

Google is doing good but Microsoft teams is better options for enterprises…

The best option I have found that doesn’t seem to have a nightmarish privacy policy and massive visible security holes is Jitsi.

Jitsi - https://meet.jit.si/
Some details on how it works, and privacy: https://jitsi.org/news/security/

This is the one my wife and homeschool group are moving over to. As easy as zoom, but much better policies. And easy to roll your own with their open source packages if you choose to.

Teams is a good choice for enterprise, and has a free version (basically for small businesses, you don’t have to pay for limited numbers of people), but it basically needs an IT person to get everyone set up and running, so not a good choice for a lower tech group.

Thanks for the details, checked it . Looks simple to use, the dial-in has limited countries listed, but still good for US.
